Thank you!

Encompass exists because of the time, energy, physical and financial contributions we have received over the years. We are sincerely thankful for those who have supported us and watched us grow - it is because of you that we support stronger families and more resilient children.

Help us Continue to Fill the Existing Gap in Needed Services

At Encompass Adoptees, we are dedicated to providing vital support and consistent programming for adopted, fostered, kinshipped (AFK) individuals and their families. Our programs are created based upon requests from individuals and families in our community, and many of these are volunteer-based. OhioKAN currently sponsors services for adoptive parents, but we are still seeking support for services specifically for those with lived experience (AFK individuals) - these programs rely on the generosity of donors like you. Your contributions directly fund the programs and services that make a meaningful difference in the lives of in our community. They also help us to advocate for greater awareness of some of the misconceptions that exist around adoption and adoptive families, with the hope for larger societal shifts & increased institutional funding for programs like ours.

Whether it’s buying art supplies & games for youth, providing educational materials and books for parents, supporting a functioning office & clean workspace, bringing in professional speakers for special lectures and therapeutic workshops, or funding maintenance and building projects - Your support helps provide direct resources that encourage and strengthen families within our community.

Our Program with the highest current need is our Resilience Building Youth Program. This program is for adopted and fostered youth ages 7-12 years old, offering a safe space for kids to learn about themselves, process big feelings in a creative and normalizing way, to grow resilience, and increase social emotional skills in a group setting with peers and lived experienced teachers & mentors. This program runs longer than most services of its kind in order to also offer essential respite time for parents and caregivers.

Encompass Adoptees is a 501c3 nonprofit, and donations are eligible for tax deduction.

Donate Supplies, Art Materials, or Books:

Art

A large part of what we do in our Encompass youth program revolves around the arts. We offer a variety of expressive and artistic experiences, including painting, clay, felting, print making, poetry, music, and story writing. The arts allow us to to express ourselves, explore, share & be part of a team, build a positive identity, and have fun. We strive to offer activities that are challenging, unique, and new; this requires a wide range of materials and supplies and increases the overall cost.

Books

Both new and used books in good condition help us offer a resource library for parents as well as adult adoptees & foster alum. We collect books referencing adoption, foster care, and donor conception, as well as those on related issues such as grief and loss, attachment, trauma & neglect, resiliency, anthologies and memoirs by those with lived experience.

Cleaning Supplies

Cleaning supplies are used to maintain a small office and support group meeting space, as well as a clean and safe space for our youth and teen programming. Paper towels, hand sanitizer, soap, and disinfectant wipes are always helpful.
